Our Finances
We anticipate
that three groups
of people will
give to the
ministry of the
Good Mood Foundation. All three groups also receive a tax
deductible receipt because the Good Mood Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit
corporation.
1.
Sympathetic
people give because the Good
Mood Foundation is helping those who deal with mood struggles. Therefore, if
you know a friend or loved one who is suffering from a mood struggle, please
invest sympathetically on their behalf.
2.
Christian
people give because the
Good Mood Foundation
is furthering the Gospel of Jesus Christ by faithfully
preaching faith to
unbelievers and repentance
to believers.
3.
Philanthropic
people give because they like
to fund worthwhile” causes with their personal and corporate assets. Therefore,
if you are philanthropically motivated, would you please prayerfully consider
investing in this ministry?
One of the most encouraging things to me is the broad support of GMF as
many of you support us through prayer, encouraging words and, of course,
financial support. As you know, the recession has had a challenging
impact on most charities this year, and ours is no exception. But, many
of the people we minister to have been greatly impacted by the recession, as
employment can be a big challenge for those suffering with serious mood
disorders. While we treasure the prayers and encouraging words of our
supporters, we really need your financial support as well.
Would you prayerfully consider a gift to the ministry? While
large gifts are greatly appreciated, would help us with at least $50 or $100,
it would be huge to us. As always, we believe in asking boldly and
trusting God for the result. Steven M. Lugar, CFP®
is GMF’s treasurer. He can help with endowments, estate planning, and the
gifting of “real property,” including stocks, bonds and other marketable
securities. You can reach Steve Lugar at 972-503-1040 or SteveL@bh-co.com. Please mail your gift to the Good Mood Foundation, 12221 Merit
Drive, Suite 750, Dallas, TX 75251.
Finally, please remember you are not giving your
money directly to me but to a ministry. I do not receive any financial benefit
from this ministry. Also, keep in mind
that I would prefer not to know who, or what amount, anyone gives to the
ministry. This allows me to minister
more effectively. I welcome ANY
questions. Email me at GMFMinistry@aol.com
or call toll-free at 1-877-GMF-8777.
The Good Mood Foundation desires to become a
member of ECFA (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability) at www.ECFA.org
. This organization was founded in 1979 to bring financial integrity and
accountability to the Christian non-profit sector. ECFA has set high standards
for membership and its roster of members includes many well known Christian
ministries. Application for membership can begin when a non-profit is receiving
$100,000 or more in donations in a single year. As of yet, we have not yet
reached the $100,000 benchmark but we are prayerfully hopeful that someday soon
we will be able to join ECFA.
